The Oke-ogun Polytechnic Saki Hails Gov. Makinde For Donating BUS to SUG
*..Says Gesture Least Expected And A Rare Privilege*
The Management, Staff and Students of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki has extended heartfelt gratitude to the Governor of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, over the recent donation of new bus to the Institution.
It would be recalled that Governor Makinde recently donated 28 new buses to Universities and other tertiary institutions in the state.
The institution, in an open letter signed by the Rector, Dr. Surv. S.A. Ajibola, said the feat was a pleasant surprise and the first of its kind in the state.
While underscoring the essence of the gesture as a handshake between the Oyo State government and the students community, Dr. Ajibola noted that the gesture serves as an antidote to one of the plights of the students especially the non-residential nature of the institution.
According to him, this singular act of generosity is commendable as it was targeted at one of the areas where the shoe pinches the institution.
The Rector, however, commended the Governor for his diligent approach and commitment to improve the quality of Education in the State, stating that his remarkable achievements has not gone unnoticed by the Management, Staff and Students of the Institution.
The statement read: “The Management, Staff and Students of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki is full of appreciation and it was with maximum humility and unalloyed patriotism cum sense of responsibility that we are compelled to write this Open Letter of Appreciation and commendation to our beloved and amiable Governor, Engr. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde (FNSE) for the uncommon favour despite the state of the economy and dwindling resources of the State at this time to have released a brand new Dail Bus (14 passengers) to the Student Union Government of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki.
“Your Excellency, it is with great pleasure that we received the news of your magnanimity which serves as an antidote to one of the plights of the students especially the non-residential nature of the institution. This singular act of generosity is commendable as it was targeted at one of the areas where the shoe pinches the institution.
“Sir, your diligent approach and commitment to improve the quality of Education in the State have not gone unnoticed by the Management, Staff and Students of the Institution and for that, we write to express our heartfelt gratitude, Sir. The hands of fellowship extended to the youths who are leaders of tomorrow dazzled us because it was least expected and a rare priviledge.
“We pledge our loyalty and dedication in order to justify the confidence reposed in our future leaders and the giant stride shall continue to linger in the annals of TOPS history. Thank you, Sir.”
