May Day: Agboworin Felicitates Nigerian Workers, Commends Makinde For Improving Civil Servants’ Welfare
The lawmaker representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency, Rep. Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, has extended his warm greetings to all workers across the nation on this auspicious occasion of Worker’s Day.
Agboworin, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, in a statement by his Media Group in Ibadan, noted that the dedication and contributions of workers to the development of our society and the nation at large is commendable.
He noted that the workers efforts are largely responsible for the greatness of the country and the respect Nigeria now commands among the comity of nations.
Similarly, the lawmaker commended the effort of the state governor, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, on his commitment towards improving welfare of workers in the state.
While saying that the governor has in almost five years, remained faithful to his promise to uphold workers’ welfare, Agboworin explained that the current administration is truly built on fairness, equity and justice.
He hailed the achievements of the governor in terms of prompt payment of monthly salary to the workforce; 13th month salary benefit, which the governor has never defaulted for once.
The statement read, “In commemoration of this year’s Worker’s Day, I want to congratulate all the workers across the nation for their resilience.
“I want to commend their passion, dedication to duty and contributions towards the development of the nation as a a whole.
“As a lawmaker, I am aware that the efforts of workers are largely responsible for the greatness of the country and the respect our nation now commands among the comity of nations.
“Let me particularly appreciate the efforts of Oyo State Governor, His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, on the improved welfare of he state workers. My Governor has been so good to the workers since the inception of his administration.
“He has been putting smile on their faces through different benefits including wage awards, 13th month salary and many others, which he has been doing consistently.
“I therefore want to appeal to the workers to continue to be dutiful in their service to the nation.”
