Fed. Lawmaker, Smato felicitates Deputy Speaker on birthday, describes him as quintessential leader

The lawmaker representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola Smato has felicitated the Deputy Speaker, Rep. Benjamin Okezie Kalu, on the occasion of his birthday anniversary.

Describing him as a quintessential leader with outstanding merit in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, the lawmaker noted that Rt. Hon. Kalu has excelled in public service over the last two decades.

Smato, who is the Chairman House Committee on Friendship Group to Pakistan and Deputy Chairman House Committee of Solid Minerals, stated that the Deputy Speaker has continuously shown a strong desire to serve.

According to him, Hon. Kalu is a deserving legislator who should be honoured for his outstanding leadership and initiative in the performance of legislative business.

He stated that the Green Chamber has greatly improved its reputation and social licence to operate as the people’s house as a result of his appointment as Spokesman of the Nigeria House of Representatives in the 9th Assembly, leaving a remarkable legacy.

He added that the legacy is still felt in the 10th Assembly, establishing a benchmark for accountability and openness in parliamentary matters.

The lawmaker however commended Rt. Kalu for his decades of service in the parliament and making Nigeria proud over the leadership and achievements at the House of Representatives.
