The lawmaker representing the Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Abass Adigun, Agboworin, has commended the Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, for partnering Shell Nigeria Gas to build distribution network in the state.

Agboworin, who is also the Chairman, House Committee on Narcotic Drugs, in a statement signed by his Media Group and made available to journalists in Ibadan, stated that the agreement signed to develop a gas supply and distribution infrastructure to industrial and commercial users in the state, is a right step in the right direction.

While saying that the project fits into the development plan capable of driving industrialization, noted that it will also boost internally generated revenue and result in more job opportunities for job seekers in the state.

Agboworin, while further hailing the governor for taking steps to leverage on gas to build a sustainable economy, noted that the project will expand the investment base of the state.

The statement read, “I am happy that the governor of Oyo State, His Excellency ‘Seyi Makinde, who is my Principal, today, made a very bold move again by partnering Shell Nigeria Gas to build gas distribution network in the state.

“I salute the spirit of ingenuity and enterprise, which he has displayed as a governor in leveraging on gas to build a sustainable economy for our dear state.

“I see the agreement signed as touching the project of gas supply and distribution infrastructure to industrial and commercial users in the state, as a right step in the right direction.

“The governor, through this project, has prioritised utilising natural gas resources domestically to create jobs, grow the economy, increase government revenue, attract investments and industrialise the state, which would all be to the benefit of the citizens.

“So, I therefore look forward to a long standing and mutually beneficial relationship with the Shell Nigerian Gas and stakeholders consistent with the economic development agenda of the govenor for Oyo State.”
