LG Poll: Oyo Reps member, SMATO casts vote, commends Gov. Makinde’s Democratic setting
As residents of Oyo state exercise their civic right across all the 33 local government, the lawmaker representing Ogooluwa/Surulere Federal Constituency, Hon Makanjuola Smato, has also cast his vote at the ongoing Oyo State Local Government election.
Smato, who voted at Mayin ward (10), polling unit 17 at Ilogbo village, in Surulere local government, commended the turnout of voters in his community.
Addressing newsmen after casting his votes, Hon. SMATO noted that his involvement in the local government elections demonstrates his commitment to democracy and the welfare of his constituents.
He equally commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his democratic setting.
According to him, by conducting local government elections, Governor Makinde has proven to be a capable leader and made history in the state.
He pointed out that, in contrast to the previous administration, which only subscribed to a sole administrator system, the governor had successfully conducted two local government elections in the last five years.
The PDP chieftain in Surulere reaffirmed that his vote promotes civic involvement, expressing confidence that all candidates of PDP would win the seats as they have effectively prepared for the election through a number of campaigns
He, however, urged the party members to set out for celebration as everyone awaited an announcement of results.
