LAUTECH alumni workshop: Best graduating students get cash, ICAN scholarship from guest speakers

About four best graduating students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, have been rewarded for coming out tops in their course of study at the just concluded workshop training organized by the school Alumni association.

The cash donations and scholarship is meant to encourage hard work among students and provide an opportunity for them to be outstanding in their next academic pursuit.

Recall that the association had on Wednesday invited two guest speakers, Maryam Abisola Adefarati, CEO of Microsoft’s Africa Regional Cluster, and Fikayo Benson, MD, MPH, Director of Global Goals at the United Nations Association-Chicago (UNA-USA-Chicago) to speak on a topic “Stepping Stones: Building Your Path To Success After Graduation” and “Building A Sustainable Career, Navigating The Transition From University To The Professional World, and Cultural Intelligence For Global: Embracing Change and Resilience”.

The workshop, held at The Great Hall, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, had in attendance prominence personality including the Ag. VC Prof Rom Kalilu, representative of the registrar, University librarian, professors, career officers and other distinguished members of the Society.

Maryam Abisola Adefarati, who was the first speaker after her speech, donated one hundred thousand (100,000) to three (3) best graduating students while the second speaker, Fikayo Benson in his benevolence promised to sponsor a student from 100l to graduation with another student getting a cash gift of hundred thousand.

Adefarati equally promised to sponsor Akinade Christianah Temilade of Accounting Department for her ICAN program.

The Global President, Engr. Olalekan Badmus however promised that the association will not tarry from event that will increase knowledge and development of the citadel.
