Ibadan Stands Still As Deputy Gov, Ladoja, Agboworin, Dare Adeleke, Smato, Other Political Bigwigs Attend Burial Of Odidiomo’s Late Father
Member representing Ibadan North East/South East Federal constituency, Rep Abass Adigun, popularly known as Agboworin, on Friday, joined top government functionaries, political leaders, religious leaders, business moguls, community leaders at the 8-day fidau prayer and reception organised to honour the late father of Hon. Dhikirullahi Adedeji Stanley Olajide (Odidiomo).
Recall the deceased, Alhaji Abdullateef Akin-Tokunbo Olajide, who was 87 years old, passed away on April 12th, and was laid to rest according to Islamic rites.
The fidau prayer at Pa Olajide’s residence in Anfani area, Ibadan, preceded the reception ceremony, which held at Jogor Event Centre and the Liberty Stadium simultaneously.
Expectedly, top government and political functionaries, elder statesmen, and dignitaries from various spheres of life graced the event to honor the Olajide family and celebrate the life of the deceased.
Among the dignitaries present were the Deputy Governor of Oyo state, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland and former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Balogun Bobajiro of Orile Igbon, Otunba Seye Famojuro, House of Reps member, Ogooluwa/Surulere Fed Constituency, Hon. Makanjuola Smato; Alhaja Bose Adedibu, among others.
Also in attendance were members of the National Assembly, including Honorable Lamiju Alao Akala, Honorable Shina Oyedeji, Hon. Akinremi Olaide Jagaban, Hon Ojo Makanjuola, Hon Olajide, Oloye Babatunde Ologburo, Boladuro, Hon Babatunde Tijani (Double T), members of the State House of Assembly and council chairmen, Chief Adegoke
The audience at the Jogor Center was thrilled by live performance from Tolu Obey, son of the great juju legend, which added to the solemn yet celebratory atmosphere of the occasion.
The presence of such esteemed individuals underscored the significance of the event, reflecting the deep respect and honor accorded to the late Alhaji Tokunbo Olajide and his family during this period of mourning and remembrance.
