We’ll Continue to Partner France in Promotion of French Language in our Schools-Oyo Edu Commissioner

Oyo State Government, on Wednesday, expressed its commitment to further collaborate with the French Community to foster continuous success of the French language programme in the schools.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology,Prof Salihu Adelabu  stated  this while commissioning  the Teaching Materials donated to selected Secondary Schools by the French Embassy at the Center for French Training and Documentations 

,Iyaganku,Ibadan.

He expressed gratitude to the French Embassy for the generous contributions to the educational sector of the state, saying that the teaching materials will assist both the teachers and students to excel in their French language studies.

The Commissioner reiterated that the ministry of Education will continue to create  an enabling environment for the success of the French Language programme in the Schools.

He called on the French Embassy to find means of establishing a French Laboratory at the center to help the teachers and students in language proficiency. 

He therefore urged French teachers to maximally utilize teaching materials donated to the center and protect them.

He encouraged them to continue fostering a love of learning the French language in their students.

According to him,”I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the French Embassy for this generous donations, as these resources will be invaluable to both teachers and students “.

“I want to assure you that the ministry is in full support of the Center’s mission and looks forward to collaborating further to ensure the continuous success of the French Language in Oyo state.”

‘So, I urge the teachers to maximally utilize these materials donated by the French Embassy.”

Earlier in her remarks, the Project Director, FSPI, Magaly Losange, said solidarity Fund for Innovation Project, ( FSPI)would help to enlarge French treachery’s pedagogical skills in Nigeria thereby putting French as Nigeria’s second official language in the national education policy.

She explained that the choice of French language has proven to be very beneficial to  young Nigerians, given the academic and professional opportunities offered to those who master the language.

She stated that the collaboration would facilitate more employment and more innovation to Schools in Oyo State.

She expressed the belief that the studying of French in secondary schools would be beneficial to the state and create more opportunities and links with the people of the different countries.
