PHOTOS: Rep Ojo Makanjuola Leads Lawmakers on Historic Visit to Pakistan High Commissioner 

Ogo-oluwa/Surulere Federal Lawmaker, Ojo Sunday Makanjuola SMATO, Chairman of the House Committee on Friendship Group to Pakistan, orchestrated a landmark visit to the High Commission of Pakistan in Nigeria, on March 27, 2024. 

This historic tour aimed to fortify diplomatic relations and explore avenues for collaborative economic ventures between Nigeria and Pakistan. Accompanied by esteemed members of the committee. 

Hon. Makanjuola led a delegation that included committee staff, the Committee Clerk, and Honourable S.A( Atanda Ahmed). The delegation was received by Major General (Retd) Sohail Ahmed Khan, the distinguished High Commissioner of Pakistan to Nigeria.

During the engaging discussions, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola reiterated the paramount importance of nurturing strong diplomatic ties between Nigeria and Pakistan. Emphasizing the potential for mutually beneficial collaboration, particularly in economic spheres, he underscored the need for both nations to explore strategic partnerships that could alleviate the economic challenges faced by Nigeria.

The visit served as a platform for fruitful exchanges on a wide range of issues, including trade, investment, and cultural cooperation. Hon. Makanjuola and his delegation expressed eagerness to explore concrete measures aimed at enhancing bilateral relations and fostering greater economic prosperity for both countries.

In his closing remarks, Hon. Ojo Sunday Makanjuola extended his heartfelt gratitude to the RT. Hon. Speaker, Tajudeen Abbass Ph.D., for setting up the committee at the 10th National Assembly,  Also entrusting him with the responsibility of chairing this esteemed committee, as the Chairman. 

He emphasized the commitment of the delegation to advancing the interests of Nigeria through proactive engagement with international partners like Pakistan.

The visit to the Pakistan High Commission marks a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties and explore new avenues for cooperation between Nigeria and Pakistan. 

Hon. Makanjuola and his delegation depart with renewed optimism and a sense of purpose as they continue to champion Nigeria’s interests on the global stage.
