The Executive Chairman of Oriire Local Government, Hon. Olateju Micheal, has embarked on massive road grading across the nooks and crannies of the Local Government.

The flag off exercise of the road grading, which attracted jubilations from the general public, is part of a broader effort to improve infrastructure and accessibility within the Orire Local Government as well as to enhance the daily lives of the local residents.

MOUTHPIECE NGR understands that before the intervention of the council boss, the deplorable condition of the roads had jeopardized the economic, health and social status of the people of the area.

Speaking with newsmen on Tuesday, the Council boss noted that the road grading project is about more than just building infrastructure; it’s also about fostering community connections, facilitating better access to healthcare, education, and markets, and eventually raising neighbourhood standards of living.

Olateju, who is also seeking a re-election, restated the promises he made to the people of Orire during his campaign to improve their quality of life and convenience, promising to do whatever it takes to ensure the council’s areas’ social, health, and economic development.

He disclosed that the ongoing road grading included Tewure to Oloru1 to Oloru 2 to Olose and to Arowosegbe as well as ward 2 Oniroyin to Obate junction to Gaa Omidoyin 1&2 to Ipekun.

The LG Chairman stated that roads have been seen as essential for enabling more efficient transportation and stimulating local economy, especially for farmers who need to move their agricultural products.

According to him, the good people of Orire have been waiting for upgrades to these roads for a long time because they have transportation difficulties during the rainy season due to various problems.

It is expected that the ongoing grading project would greatly reduce the issues and improve year-round traffic on the roads.

He added that the potential effects of the road improvements for easier goods transportation, which is essential for our businesses’ expansion, are also encouraging to local businesses.

Olateju assured the people that business transactions would be made easy, which will in no small way increase the gains and reduce the pains of every business sector.

He however, solicited more cooperation and supports of the people for the government of the day.

A resident who is also a farmer thanked the Local Government Boss for starting this initiative to lessen farmers’ suffering while expressing his gratitude for the ongoing grading.

He equally thanked the Makinde administration for giving the council boss the necessary support, adding that that the 21 kilometres of connecting roads is a step forward in enhancing infrastructural development across the state.
