Nigeria Golfers to storm Ogbomoso town for inaugural Oba Ghandi’s Golf Tournament

The city of Ogbomoso will host golfers from all across the country to participate in the inaugural golf tournament as part of the events to celebrate the coronation of the new king of the second-largest city in Oyo State, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Laoye Orumogege III as the new Soun of Ogbomoso by His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde the Executive Governor of the State.

Speaking to the pressmen, the  Captain of Ogbomoso Golf Club, Oloye Pekun Olaleye said that the club is ready to host the visiting golfers in one of the best golf tournaments full of entertainment and merriments in recent years, he further expressed gratitude to God for blessing them with a king that is also a seasoned golfer. The Vice Captain of the Club Professor Olajide Ajao on his part stated that “It is a new dawn” in the history of Ogbomoso Golf Club and the City, that the city has been experiencing positive changes immediately after the new king was declared by the kingmakers. 

Friday 15th December will be the arrival of the golfers, a courtesy visit to the palace and a golf practice round by desired golfers. 

The main tournament and closing ceremony is on the second day, Saturday 16th of December, the Ceremonial tee-off by His Imperial Majesty, Oba Afolabi Ghandi Laoye Orumogege III will be held by 9 am same 16th of December,

One of the media planning committee members, Otunba Yomi Ojo collaborated on the statement of the Captain assuring golfers of adequate care and maximum enjoyment and praised the Local Organising Committee for an excellent job.
