In his words, “Anyone who is familiar with the popular Ogbegun Community of Ogbomoso and its environs knows the importance of the Ogbegun River and the main access road to the lives of about 5,000 people living within the Community. That is why as an administration, we have continued to commit so much to the constant maintenance of the road and river to prevent flooding and other environmental hazards that can arise especially during rainy season.

“I visited Ogbegun community yesterday in company of the HLGA, The contractor, Engr Raji, Director of works, The Dags, Director of Finance and other administrative staffs of the local government to give an on-spot assessment and see what can be done to avert pending denger to the recently constructed Ogbegun community road in order to facilitate smooth transportation of goods and services within the community.

“Recall that recently, our administration re-constructed the Ogbegun bridge and the road that leads to the community by extension as well now wears a new look, one that signifies a paradigm shift from the era of old rustiness to a new beginning that is pregnant with numerous wonderful expectations of development.

“One of such expectation of development after a thorough investigation of the situation of the road is the need for a complete re-construction of Ogbegun 2nd bridge, in order to create a proper channel through which the water will flow freely no matter the level of rain fall.

“This is to assure everyone living in Ogbegun community that work would soon commence on the reconstruction of the 2nd bridge, as our administration is committed to finding a lasting solution to problems faced by our people in that community.

“However, the little damage done by the recent heavy downpour on a fraction of the newly constructed road has been rehabilitated by contractor that handled the project.

“Be rest assured that development won’t stop”, he said.
