As Ibrahim and Sekinat tie nuptial knot, Makinde charges the couple on love, tolerance and patience

The governor of Oyo state, ‘Seyi Makinde’ has urged new couple to build their house on love, tolerance and patience in order to make their marriage blissful.

He gave the advice on Saturday during a wedding ceremony between Ibrahim Oyelade and Sekinat Eletuodibo, which took place at Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos state.

Represented by his deputy, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, the governor described marriage as a journey embarked upon by lovers and required patience, understanding, tolerance, perseverance, and forgiveness for it to succeed.

He urged the husband to be industrious and should always make his wife happy with her needs, adding that they must learn to live together with love and understanding and should care for each other.

Makinde, who congratulated the new couples and their families for the successful marriage, equally commended their parents particularly the father of the groom who is the Baba Isale Musulumi of Ibaadanland, Chief Lateef Oyelade for properly raising his son to the point of marriage.

He wished the couple well in their sojourn and pray to God to make the union a blissful one.

The colorful event was attended by several dignitaries including the wife of Oyo Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Ajibola Lawal; Wife of Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Oluyemisi Hamzat, Oyo Commissioner for Education, Professor Salihu Abdulwaheed Adelabu also known as Abdulone, as well as Otunba Seye Famojuro, who is an ally of Oyo Governor, Seyi Makinde.

Also at the event included Nigeria former Ambadsador to Zambia, Mama Ronke Adefope; Director General of Oyo State Bureau of Public Procurement, Ms Tara Adefope; Special Assistant on Administrations to Oyo Deputy Governor, Alhaji Zakariyau Kunle Sani; Former Oyo Senator, Soji Akanbi; Oyo Former House of Reps member, Hon. Olayemi Busari and host of others.
