BREAKING: Why Ogbomoso North PDP members stormed Baba Saka Balogun residents

Members of Peoples Democratic Party in Ogbomoso North local government have reacted to a statement credited to a faceless group that loyalists of the chairman, Kabir Ayoade stampeded the resident of  Alhaji Saka Balogun on Tuesday to disrupt stakeholders meeting to select a consensus candidate for the chairmanship position in the forthcoming local government election.

The PDP members, through a statement signed by the spokesman of the chairman, Olamide Aderibigbe, and made available to MOUTHPIECE NGR on Wednesday, alleged that the faceless group perpetuated a false narrative that undermines the factual understanding of the events that took place.

He described the statement by the faceless group as a blatant lie from the pit of hell, saying that it was Baba Saka Balogun that intentionally removed some names who are loyal to the chairman.

It alleged that among the 16 leaders mentioned, there are additional leaders loyal to the chairman whose names were removed which include Alhaji Razaq Agbeti, Mr Odetunde Williams, Saka Aremole, John Oke Legacy, Abdusalam Ibrahim, Femi Balogun, and Professor Rafael Afonja.

“It is clear that the meeting was not aimed at fostering harmony, as evident by the deliberate removal of these names to advance personal agendas. It is important to rely on credible sources to form an accurate understanding of the situation, rather than being swayed by misleading narratives and hearsay.”

The statement reads: “It has come to our attention that several misconceptions and incorrect statements have been circulating regarding the issue of the Ogbomoso North Stakeholder meeting held yesterday at Dr. Saka Balogun’s house, as published by one faceless online medium. Therefore, it is necessary to address these falsehoods and clarify the actual facts surrounding this matter.

“One of the misconceptions that has gained traction is the claim that “members loyal to the local government chairman, Hon Kabir Ayoade, disrupted the meeting.”

“I must emphasize that this claim is baseless and unsupported by any reliable evidence. It is important to understand that those who expressed their dissatisfaction did so because they believed Baba Saka was biased. By misinterpreting or misrepresenting the situation, one perpetuates a false narrative that undermines the factual understanding of the events that took place.

“Another erroneous belief that has been circulating is that “16 leaders were invited for the meeting for harmonization, but the disenchanted factional team led by a former member of the Governorship Advisory Council GAC, who had concluded plans to return the chairman Hon Kabir Ayoade and others, stormed the venue with their loyalists who forcefully gained entrance.”

“I would like to rectify this misconception, as it stems from a misunderstanding of the facts. Among the 16 leaders mentioned, there are additional leaders loyal to the chairman whose names were intentionally removed. These leaders include Mr Odetunde Williams, Saka Aremole, John Oke Legacy, Abdusalam Ibrahim, Femi Balogun, and Professor Rafael Afonja. It is clear that the meeting was not aimed at fostering harmony, as evident by the deliberate removal of these names to advance personal agendas. It is important to rely on credible sources to form an accurate understanding of the situation, rather than being swayed by misleading narratives and hearsay.

“Lastly, the claim made by the faceless medium that “it took the intervention of security officers to prevent some of the leaders from being attacked by stern-looking mobs who were using abusive songs and foul language to embarrass the leaders” is a commonly held misconception.

“I want to assert that everything stated in this regard is false. The chairman was not even present at the meeting, and the reasons for the people’s revolt can be attributed to their loss of trust and confidence in Baba Saka Balogun. Therefore, it is important to clarify that all they desire is a fair primary election and not the imposition of Alhaja Rainbow upon them.

“In conclusion, it is crucial to rely on accurate information from reliable sources and avoid spreading baseless claims and misinformation. Misrepresenting events and individuals only serves to further confusion and hinder constructive dialogue. It is essential to approach these matters with integrity and a commitment to the truth.”

Meanwhile, efforts to hear anyone with a contrary reaction proved abortive at the time of filling this report. It was however gathered that those whose names were allegedly removed have confirmed the development.

Stay tuned as we look forward to update on contrary reactions.
