Ogbomoso agog as Best LEGACY College holds maiden convocation ceremony, 286 receives scholarship

It was an epoch-making event, yesterday, as a NCE-Awarding institution, Best Legacy College of Education, Ogbomoso held its annual combined Matriculation and Convocation ceremonies.

Mouthpiece NGR correspondent gathered that the event which took place at the school premises had a number of students conferred with National Certificate in Education (NCE) for 2021/22 academic session and others were also officially matriculated.

Best Legacy College of Education is the first private owned institution in Ogbomoso which was founded in the year 2007 with the approval from National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Abuja, has graduated over 6,000 students over the past years.

Speaking at the combined ceremonies on Saturday, the provost, Bukola Sunday Oyerinde, congratulated the graduates on the successful completion of their academic pursuit, having met the requirements for the award of N.C.E.

He disclosed that about 788 student were matriculated and 286 were granted scholarships for the 2022/2023 session by the Director of the School, Hon. John Adisa Oke.

He said the beneficiary of the scholarship are less privileged within communities, LCDA, churches mosques among others.

While stressing that about 486 students graduated from various departments in the School, he noted that the overall best graduating student was Adeyemi Jemima who is also the best graduating student school of Science.

He stated that the Vocational Technical Education best graduating student was Akingbade TOYIN; Best graduating student Language, Isa Sherifat whilst the best graduating art and socal science was Abolade Omowumi.

According to him: It’s indeed, an end of a pursuit, but also the beginning of a new face of life and accomplishments.

He charged the graduates to continue learning and exhibit good character by ably representing their institution wherever they find themselves.

In his address, the Executive Director of the School, Hon. John Oke Ph.D, noted that the institution has been keened into the vision by empowering its students with activities that prepared them for leadership and productive dialogue as well as equipping them with skills to change their world.

Oke urged the students to see any challenge they encounter in the course of their studies as a building block and keep up till last line.

While pledging his continuous support for the less privileged, he advised the matriculated students to face their studies squarely and be prepared for a rigorous academic sojourn.

The event had dignitaries across Oyo state including the Grand Chief Imam of Ogbomoso Land, Sheikh Imam Talihat Oluwashina Yunus Ayilara, Aale Okelerin, Oba Olayode Zacheus Oldapo Alaropo of alaropo nla among others in attendance.
