Labour Party In Oke Ogun Collapse Structure For Makinde’s Reelection Bid

The relection bid of governor Seyi Makinde received a boost yesterday as the ten local governments Chairmen in Oke Ogun have collapsed the Labour Party structure in their region to back governor Seyi Makinde in the February 11 governorship elections.

A statement by Omolere Omoetan Senior Special Assistant on Media to the deputy governor indicated that the Labour Party delegation led by Mr Jamiu Suliaman Eniola Iseyin local government were received by Debo Adejumo Chairman Oyo State Tourism Board on behalf of Barrister Bayo Lawal, deputy governor Oyo State, who was away on official assignment.

Mr. Eniola in his remarks noted that they have chosen to collapse the Labour Party structure in the entire Oke Ogun  to back Makinde’s reelection bid because of his giant strides in infrastructure development in the region.  

He said ” We have met with our Members, and we have their support across all the local government areas in Oke Ogun, our decision to support Seyi Makinde  is unanimous,” Tiamiu noted.

Mr. Samuel Adejumobi, Special Adviser to governor Seyi Makinde on Parliamentary Matters who facilitated the meeting had earlier commended the Labour Party Chairmen for what he termed their Patriotic decision to back the governor’s reelection, stressing that governor Makinde is the only governor who indeed have taken Oke Ogun region seriously.

Speaking on behalf of the Deputy governor Barrister Bayo Lawal, Mr Debo welcomed the decision of the Labour Party Chairmen and assured them of the support of the governor while stressing that the reelection of governor Seyi Makinde will bring more prosperity to the region.

He apologise that the deputy governor was not on ground to receive them as he was away on official assignment. He, however, gave them the assurances that they have the backing and appreciation of the deputy governor. 

He noted further that Bayo Lawal commended their decision stressing that it is reflective of the wishes of true sons and daughters of Oke Ogun.

Among Labour Party Chairmen from Oke Ogun present at the meeting included Jamiu Suliaman Eniola Iseyin local government,  Aleshiloye Ibraheem Atisbo local government, Babalola Nafiu Iwajowa local government. 

Oguntegbe Isaac Kajola local government, Balogun Azeez Oorelope local government,  and Ademoye Dada Saki East Local government.
