Makinde’s re-election already ordained by God— Oyo PDP tells APC 

Oyo state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told opposition parties in the forthcoming governorship election that the reelection of Governor Seyi Makinde for another term of four years was already ordained by God and that nothing could stop it.

Consequently, the ruling PDP urged opposition parties in the state not to waste their scarce resources trying to contest against God’s project in the spirit of politicking as it was already evident with the mammoth crowd at Makinde’s campaign flag off yesterday that the Governor’s reelection is already a moving train ordained by God till 2027.

The Publicity Secretary of PDP in the state, Akeem Olatunji made this known in a press statement today in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

Governor Seyi Makinde yesterday commenced the journey for his reelection bid yesterday by officially flagging off his Governorship campaign at Mapo in Ibadan.

The event was witnessed by five Governors on the platform of the party also known as the integrity Governors now been referred to as the G-5.

The ruling PDP in its press statement expressed gratitude to the people of Oyo state as well as party members for making a bold statement with the turn out yesterday describing the crowd as not only overwhelming but clearly an indication of popular support and acceptance by the general public.

The party also assured Makinde of a convincing victory at the polls come March 11 stressing that the Governor’s landmark achievements which has catapulted the state from a poverty to prosperity in less than four years in office will continue to make the PDP the political bride of the masses.

Maintaining that PDP remains united and one in the state, the Olatunji said, the presence of political gladiators in the party at Mapo was a clear evidence that PDP is the master of the game in term of managing its internal affairs.

The party stated further that Makinde’s victory after the March 11 Governorship election would hit opposition in the state like a thunderbolt noting that the outcome of the election would send a message to all politicians in the state that Makinde is like a season whose time has come.

“Nothing else could be said apart from just gratitude. Gratitude to God for the love and support for our own God’s sent man, Governor Seyi Makinde, gratitude to the very good people of Oyo state, gratitude to all members of the PDP across the entire 33 local government areas.

“Yesterday was a very clear statement by the people themselves on who they want as their Governor. The statement which was so bold became too overwhelming by the crowd such that not a single casualty was recorded.

“It was indeed the gathering of the good people of the state in an open show of endorsement. We’re thrilled and confident that this show of public endorsement of Governor Seyi Makinde will be replicated at the polls.

“As far as we are concerned in Oyo state, it is PDP from top to bottom. Nobody who had visited Oyo state before 2019 and now would argue the fact that Engr. Makinde has been an absolutely committed, selfless, visionary and prudent governor to have been able to transform Oyo state to its present enviable height amidst the most turbulent and economic challenging era in the history of Nigeria and it is our solemn promise once again that Oyo state will become even greater in Governor Makinde’s second term.” Oyo PDP said.
