2023: Ogbomoso agog as LAUTECH students stage ‘Solidarity Walk’ for Makinde’s re-election 

It was a historical day in Ladoke Akintola University of Technology as students troop out in their numbers to meet with her Visitor and Executive Governor of Oyo State, His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, FNSE for LAUTECH4GSM solidarity walk on Monday. 

The LAUTECH4GSM walk tagged ‘The Deserving Authority’ was organized by the Students’ Union Government of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso under the leadership of President Adeboye Anuoluwa in collaboration with the Directorate of Youth and Students’ Affairs Mobilization of the Governor ably led by Director General, Hon Ibrahim Salami Dikko, Students’ Affairs Coordinator, Hon. Victor Olojede (Special Assistant to Governor on Students’ Affairs), Students’ Affairs Co-Coordinator, Hon. Oluwaseun Laurel (Special Assistant to Governor on Project Delivery).

While delivering his speech at LAUTECH Amphitheatre where the entire students, management, and staff of the University had gathered to welcome the Governor for the walk, the SUG President, Adeboye Anuoluwa appreciates the Visitor and Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde for fulfilling his campaign promises in 2019 and always giving a listening ear and immediate response to students’ agitation and requests for the upliftment of the University. 

He noted some of the achievements including sole ownership, 25% reduction in tuition fees, prompt payment of salaries, reconstruction of 3KM UnderG to Stadium road and light up projects, relaxation of no tuition no exam policies, academic stability, LAUTECH now best state University in Nigeria and many more. 

He pointed out that the LAUTECH4GSM walk was organized to express the gratitude of the entire students and staff of LAUTECH to the Governor and readiness for Omituntun 2.0. He then seized the opportunity of the walk to request the release of the withheld May and June 2022 Subvention of the University which the Executive Governor gave immediate payment approval.

The Visitor to LAUTECH and Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde was then conferred with the honorary of ‘THE DESERVING AUTHORITY’ by the SUG President, Adeboye Anuoluwa. 

The Walk started at the LAUTECH Amphitheater to UnderG-Stadium road and ended at Ojaagbo, Ogbomoso.
