Oyo PDP PRO, Akeem Olatunji Puts Police On Alert Over Party Billboard Vandalization

The Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo state, Akeem Olatunji has raised the alarm over the sustained attack on the party’s billboards and posters especially within Ibadan metropolis.

The ruling party’s image maker in the state called on the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams, to prevail on the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) from forcing a confrontational situation that may culminate into breakdown of public peace.

The ruling party accused the APC in Oyo state of fanning ember of violence by its continuous destruction of PDP billboards at different parts of the state capital.

The ruling party maintained that members and supporters of the APC in the state are behind the persistent attacks on the PDP billboards and posters alleging that the APC governorship candidate, Senator Teslim Folarin was deliberately giving his party members the boldness to create an avoidable situation of public unrest in order to blackmail the state government.

According to Olatunji, the most recent of the vandalism by the APC apologists affected billboards at Methodist bridge along Lagos/Ibadan toll gate, new garage, Olomi Olunde road, and Muslim bridge Mosfala Pegba road.

Recall that the ruling party’s spokesman also raised similar alarm sometime not too long ago when similar act of billboards vandalism by alleged APC members in Oluyole local government.

Olagunju said, it was a public knowledge how the APC governorship candidate was going about in his desperate bid to discredit the giant stride and efforts of the Seyi Makinde led administration in the area of the state’s security architecture.

“We know their grand plan in APC, and that is to deliberate create a tensed situation where PDP members will be provoked to retaliate their unabated attacks on our Party’s billboards and posters. They are planning to force our hands so that they can have hold on to it as their campaign mantra but we will not yield to their evil antics.

“Mr jagba once bragged publicly how he had set three different traps for the executive Governor to fall for during the build up to the local government election, so they could advance their evil political machinations but Governor Makinde is miles ahead of them all in term of calculation that’s why they failed.

“The APC has employed the services of hooligans and political thugs to carry out different nefarious acts against the PDP one of which is the sustained attacks on our billboards and posters. The APC in Oyo state is acting out of delusions thinking it could influence backings from Abuja to engage in political rascality and brigandage but they already failed.

“We’re a peaceful and peace loving party that is entirely focused on the business of making Oyo state a truly pacesetter state and making every sons and daughters as well as residents of Oyo state truly proud.

“For the sake of emphasis, we appeal to the state Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Williams to in the interest of public peace prevail on ‘mr jagba’ senator Teslim Folarin and his party people to refrain from the path they’re taking before it degenerates into public disorderliness.” Akeem Olatunji said.
