2023 Election: Oludamilola -Ala backs Makinde, Urges Ayu to step down as PDP National Chairman

With few days to commencement of Political campaigns ahead of 2023 general elections, a Chieftain of People’s Democratic Party in Ibadan South East local government, Hon Oludamilola Oluwole-ALA has thrown support for the suggestion made by Governor Seyi Makinde that the National Chairman of the Party Dr Iyocha Ayu should vacate his position to allow equity and fareness.

This was made known by Hon. Oluwole-Ala shortly after the Southwest PDP Stakeholders Meeting in Ibadan, which also included PDP Presidential Candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto state, and other current and former Governors.

According to him what’s honourable for the National Chairman at this critical time is to resign voluntarily without further deliberation and for the interest of the party.

“The leadership dispute will not be resolved if Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his team continue to whip up support for Sen. Iyocha Ayu to continue serving as the party’s national chairman.

“Within just few days to flag of political campaigns and PDP is yet to solve fundamental issues arises from Presidential Primary election and other issues at the state and local levels then there’s fire on the mountain top”.

Hon ALA who back the recommendation of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state that it is imperative to restructure the leadership of PDP so that there will be equity and fairness urged the concerned parties to work collectively to send All Progressive Congress out of  power come 2023.

“I have said it several times, the key demand of Governor Nyesom Wike’s camp is resignation of the National Chairman of the PDP Senator Iyorchia Ayu,whose resignation is described as important in addressing the alleged marginalisation of the south in leadership position of the party. As a Committed member of the Party  the crisis between Atiku and Wike’s camps are dangerous for the PDP especially for a party who is eager to wrestle power from incumbent.”

“Going by the statement credited to Governor of Delta State and Vice Presidential candidate of the PDP Senator Ifeanyi Okowa Nigeria is currently sick and the only medicine is the need is PDP”ALA stated

Hon Oludamilola Oluwole ALA urged members of the party not to be discouraged about the reshuffling of National working Committee of PDP but continue in their contact and mobilization for the victory of the party come 2023.
