VIDEO: KPU Ibadan, Diaspora visit Bayo Lawal, describe him as ‘true Omoluabi’

Kishi Progressive Union (KPU), Ibadan branch and Diaspora, have joined other well wishers to congratulate Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal on his appointment as the Deputy Governor of Oyo State.

Led by Professor Fatai Adeniyi, KPU described the Ex-Attorney General of Oyo State, as a true Omoluabi who will impact positively on the people of Oyo North Senatorial District and Oyo State at large. 

The groups in a separate letter presented to the Deputy Governor at his Bashorun, Ibadan home, on Sunday, noted that Lawal’s appointment was based on his track record, loyalty and hardworking at Housing Corporation where he served as Executive Chairman. 

They commended Governor Seyi Makinde for displaying yet another spirit of discernment for selecting the best man for the job. 

It reads: “On behalf of the entire members of the Kishi Progressive Union (KPU), Ibadan branch, we hereby express our profound joy in respect of your appointment as the Deputy Governor of Oyo State by His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde (FNSE).

“We receive the great news of your appointment with an incredible amount of cheer because of several reasons: 

Firstly, you are an active member of Kishi Progressive Union, Ibadan branch and we have always looked up to you. So we are very delighted for the rare privilege of having a deputy governor as one of our members.

Secondly, we believe based on your antecedents, that your appointment will impact on the good people of Oyo State generally and people of Oyo North in particular.

Thirdly, we were so happy that the Executive Governor of Oyo State has yet again displayed another spirit of discernment for selecting the best man for the job.

“We hereby reiterate our support to you and our dear Governor as we pledge our total commitment to this administration. I assure you that we will stop at nothing that our actions are consistent with our actions.

” Once again, on behalf of our members, we congratulate you on this noble achievements and we wish you the best in your tenure, we equally pray that God will grant you the enablement of moving from strength to strength.

While delivering his vote of thanks, Alhaji SG Ayoola asserted that no deputy governor has had such acceptability like Chief Bayo Lawal on the premise that all traditional rulers and eminent personalities from Oke Ogun had paid courtesy call to his office to congratulate him and expressed their unalloyed support for the success of the present administration. 

Reacting, Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdulraheem Bayo Lawal said his appointment was by providence and prerogative of Governor Seyi Makinde who found him worthy as his running mate and deputy leading to 2023 general elections.

He assured Kishi Progressive Union that his position is a call to serve the people of Oyo State in larger capacity noting that he would not disappoint his principal and the people of Oyo State.

Lawal, however charged the group to embark on sensitization and mass mobilization of citizens and residents of Kishi in Irepo local government to vote massively for all PDP candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
