Police apprehend wanted suspected thug, Rasidi Oko-Ilu in Osun

A suspected thug who has been declared wanted in Osun State, Rasheed Hammed, popularly referred to as Oko-Ilu, has been arrested.

Oko-Ilu, who has been intimidating Ede and its people, was apprehended by men of the anti cultism unit of the State police command.

He was caught around 4 a.m. in his hideout in Osogbo, the State capital and is currently in the police custody.

Rasheed, a welder by profession, has been monitored and trailed by the security men for allegedly causing havoc and violence in Ede community.

He has been consequently announced wanted by Osun State Police Command, saying anyone that kept him would also be treated as a criminal.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, Yemisi Opalola, via a statement in March said Rasidi has been declared wanted in relation with offences of murder, arson, ritual killing and armed robbery.

It further read, “suspect has been causing menace in Ede and the entire Osun state. Anybody by harbour the suspect will be treated by the police as accomplice to the crimes. Anybody having useful information to his whereabouts will be handsomely rewarded.”
