PHOTOS: Oyo Deputy Governor, CoS, HoS, others celebrate SSG, Olubamiwo Adeosun

The Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal, on Monday, joined other prominent government officials in congratulating Mrs Olubamiwo Adedosun, the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, on the joyous occasion of her birthday anniversary, MOUTHPIECE NGR reports. 

Lawal, who had earlier paid a visit to the celebrant at the SSG conference room, praised the Secretary as a consummate administrator and devoted Oyo citizen whose influence on governance over the past three years was noticeable and appreciated. 

He said he admired her as a leader in the time past with the way she run the office of SSG while as the Chairman of Oyo Housing Corporation. 

According to him, about 22 years ago when I was serving as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General of Oyo State, things have changed. But in context, upon which Oyo State is standing, if I make some remarks that are not in modern state, then you will have to forgive me.”

“I received my letter of appointment from her when i started working for this government. However, as soon as I came in, I started wondering who Olubamiwo is, where is she coming from, then I see the white in her. She is the epitome of a technocrat.”

The Secretary, according to Lawal, is very intellectual, understands the concept of service delivery, particularly in the public sector, and has made sure that those philosophies find practical application in her work.

He stressed that the office of SSG must understand bureaucracy and understand business and also be more political because political appointees frequently visit the office. 

 Lawal intimated that there won’t be a directive but said all government officials will work together to advance the state, now that he assumes the position of Deputy Governor. 

He personally thanked His Excellency, “Seyi Makinde,” for providing Oyo State such a multifaceted woman as SSG, and he prayed that her life which is pleasant and pleasing will not be cut short. 

“Now, you are blessed in all ramifications, family wise, career wise, and in everything, May God continue to strengthen you”, he concluded. 

Earlier in his remarks, the Chief of Staff to Oyo State Government, Hon. Segun Ebenezer Ogunwuyi described Mrs Olubamiwo as a good administrator who  understand everyone, including politicians in government. 

Ogunwuyi emphasized that the Secretary has been so consistent, able to manage everyone, and has been able to balance and manage technocrats and hybrids, adding that she deserves kudos for her audacity and administrative acumen at conflict time.

While expressing her appreciation, the SSG, Mrs Olubamiwo, who was with her son, Ife Adeosun, revealed that the Deputy Governor, Bayo Lawal came to the SSG Conference Hall this morning to congratulate her and that His Excellency, Seyi Makinde, and other government functionaries have also called her this morning to congratulate her. 

She noted that there was no other location she could have celebrated her birthday with other government officials but in Ibadan. 

“In 2020, my husband invited me to join him in Lagos for the birthday celebration, but I told him it would be in Ibadan instead. Likewise, in 2021 and now 2022 with other government officials.
