Oyo North: In unity, lies our strength’—  Oyo Acting Governor, Bayo Lawal tells PDP members

The Oyo State Deputy Governor, Barrister Adebayo Abdul-raheem Lawal has urged all PDP candidates and members in Oyo North senatorial district to remain united, MOUTHPIECE NGR reports.

This was said on Wednesday in Iseyin by Lawal, who also serves as acting governor, in front of party members and leaders from all 13 local governments that fall within the senatorial district.

Although there will be internal strife, he asserted, the party must remain united and move forward without the dissenters as elections draw near.

He said that it was not in the interests of the people for a party that has done so much for Oyo to waste its efforts on needless tangles or let the past divide us.

Lawal stated that the strength is in unity and that stakeholders will put people at the center of discussions to settle all disputes amicably.

He emphasized the necessity for party candidates to take good care of party members and engage them frequently to secure victory in the upcoming election while cautioning them to perform what is required of them to deliver.

The former Attorney General of Oyo State and immediate Chairman of Oyo Housing Corporation then called on party officials and senatorial district members to encourage people to collect their voters cards, saying that many cards are still hanging at the INEC headquarters.

He concluded by thanking everyone who has been congratulating him from various local government, saying that this outpouring support is unprecedented since he was named Deputy Governor.

“I extend my appreciation to all the councils and particularly PDP state Excos who said they have never paid a courtesy visit to any government functionaries before”, he said.

In attendance include Oyo Acting Governor, Barrister Adebayo Lawal, Baba Saka Balogun; Alhaji Kunmi Mustapha, Commissioner Abiodun Oni; Oyo North Senatorial Candidate, Hon. Akinwole Akinwale; Oyo North DG, Barrister Farinto; Chief Jacob Adetoro; Commissioner for Special Duties, Joke Fausat and Former Deputy Chief of Staff.
