The Oyo state image maker of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Saturday doled out cash to about 20 members of his party in Oluyole Local Government.

MOUTHPIECE NGR understands that the empowerment is to encourage the two zones with highest number of attendees at the meeting out of the 10 zones that makes ward 7.

Akeem Olatunji who hails from the same ward assured PDP members in the ward that the exercise will henceforth be a monthly exercise to encourage and motivate loyal and faithful party members in the area.

“The empowerment is basically out of my personal resources to our loyal and faithful party members at the grassroots as a form of economic stimulus package to help compliment what our pragmatic Governor, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde is doing across the state as well as the Local government executive chairman, Honourable Olaide Popoola Settle.” Olatunji told westernmirror news Saturday evening.

However, details of how much each cash envelope that was presented contained was not disclosed but beneficiaries of the cash empowerment numbered about twenty party faithfuls.

The move which created a massive impression among excited PDP stalwarts and party faithfuls in the ward led to many showering encomium on the PDP Publicity Secretary.

Olatunji, who was accompanied by the Secretary to Oluyole local government, Honourable Azeez Babalola, ward 7 Counselor, Honourable Waheed Ogundijo, the Ward party’s chairman and vice chairman, Iyan and Alhaji Waheed Ogundijo and others said what some may perceive as little may be everything others may need to solve pressing economic needs.

Olatunji stressed the need for leaders in the party to always look for ways to reduce the burden on the Governor’s shoulders at their various localities, considering that the forthcoming electioneering campaign seasons beckons fast.

Olatunji, who urged party members to prepare ahead of the coming election campaign said PDP in Oluyole will not accept any excuse from any party member who may be sitting on the fence for whatever reason stressing that Oluyole must deliver on the mandate of all PDP candidates at the coming election.

He added that those selected for the pilot empowerment program are those he described as die-hard lovers and Governor Seyi Makinde and the PDP regardless of political patronage at any level.

“This is a program I pray God help me to sustain for a long time because we plan to do this every month as a form of economic stimulus for our people. Those selected for the pilot are the die-hard Advocate of Governor Seyi Makinde and the PDP regardless of any personal or political challenge they may be facing thereby making the party the dominant party in Oluyole federal constituency.” Olatunji added.

“I already told our party members in Oluyole that the new approach of Oyo State PDP as we approach general election is ‘operation win your polling unit’ and for all the excos at various levels and political appointees because that form part of consideration for political patronage moving forward.” Olatunji stressed.
