NSCDC declares total war on criminals, bandits

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Wednesday announced total war against bandits and other criminal agents terrorising the country.

The Director of Public Relations, DCC Olusola Odumosu, has via a statement, said one of the functions of the Corps is to safeguard lives and property, as such it must go to any length to ensure that citizens’ lives are protected against all forms of criminals.

The Corps, therefore, assured citizens that the scientific synergy and collaboration between the Corps and other security agencies will soon yield positive results.

According to him, the Commandant General of the Corps, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, is optimistic that security agencies are working tirelessly to bring about positive changes and called on the citizens not to allow fear and panic to affect them.

He added that the effort is being geared toward confronting the menace of insecurity and reversing the ugly trend.

He said the high-powered meeting of Deputy Commandant Generals, Zonal Commanders, and Commandants convened by him was necessitated by the urgent need to put an end to the quagmire, adding that there is a need to go back to the drawing table to brainstorm and come up with new strategies and methods of resolving the problems of insecurity in the country.

“Henceforth, l will hold Zonal Commanders and State Commandants responsible for any breach of peace or attack on any critical Infrastructure in your domains and I will not hesitate to show anyone, who is not ready to drive this vision with us the way out,” he said.

He charged the ACGs and Commandants to deploy their personnel effectively to secure citizens and protect national assets and infrastructure, adding that NSCDC is a lead agency in the protection of critical national assets and infrastructure.
