Makinde’s aide on Project Delivery emerges in the Top Ten Most Outstanding Young Persons of Nigeria for the year 2022

Former President of the Students’ Union of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology,(LAUTECH), Abiodun Oluwaseun(LAUREL), Also a former recipient of the prestigious MTN Nigeria Foundation Scholarship brought another accolade to the nation, enhancing the administration of Seyi Makinde’s youthful spirit.

Abiodun, fondly called Laurel, was recently selected by JCI Nigeria as one of the Top 30 Finalists for the Ten Outstanding Young Persons of Nigeria.

A list of Finalists in the Ten categories of the Ten Outstanding Young Persons Award was made public in preparation for the public vote phase of the award process after a protracted nomination and review process and extensive independent judge evaluation.

In the top 30 for the Political and Legal category, Laurel was recognized as one of the top 3 and eventual winner of the category.

He has presented the award, at a lavish ceremony held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja on the 17th of August in commemoration of 2022 International youth day themed, Intergenerational Solidarity: Creating a world for ages, he made the top 10 after being subjected to a stringent screening process and public vote to determine the winners of the prestigious award.

In Laurel’s remarks “From a Spectator last year to the stage and hall of fame this year, indeed a boy who believes in making a little change to make a big impact is living his dream. On behalf of Team Laurel, This award is dedicated to the Almighty God, My Mum, and The Executive Governor of Oyo State, ENGR.Seyi Abiodun Makinde, The Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Engr. Seun Fakorede, DG BPP, Ms. Tara Adefope, JCI LAUTECH, Oyo State PDP Youth, Oyo State Youth Parliament, LAUTECH community, PDP Family, Liberal Movement, Libra Advocacy, Seyi Again Movement, GSM ADVOCATES, Oyo State Project Monitoring Department, My friends and lovers of Good Governance across the country. He further stressed that Youth is the nation’s only hope and as such we have to brace up to rescue Nigeria for the sake of our future and the upcoming Generations”.

It is important to note that some of these award winners will also go through a similar process at the global TOYP to have a chance to be named one of the Ten Outstanding Young People of the World, who will be announced this year at the JCI World Congress in Hong Kong in front of delegates from over 123 nations.

Femi Anikulapo Kuti, Adepeju Jaiyeoba, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Shola Akinlade, Hamzat Lawal, Cobhams Asuquo, Kanu Nwankwo, Steve Harris, Late Bimbo Odukoya, Linda Ikeji, and renowned journalist Ray Ekpu are just a few of the previous winners of this award.

The British High Commission’s Deputy High Commissioner was present to add glitz to the colorful celebrations, which were graced by a gathering of noble men.
