Buhari reacts to passing of ex-IGP, Tafa Balogun

President Muhammadu Buhari has joined family, friends, and associates in mourning the passing of the former Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mustapha Balogun.

The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, has via a condolence message, on Friday in Abuja, has said that the president mourned with the Nigeria Police Force, the security institution Balogun used his better part of his life to serve.

The Nigerian leader recalled that the former IGP, during his tenure, tried his best to make sure that the police performed its statutory responsibilities under a democratic dispensation.

The president said, his thoughts and prayers are with the family, the government, and Osun people, as well as former colleagues of the deceased police chief.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed.
