Bandits abduct six in Katsina

Six persons in Dutsinma town, Dutsinma Local Government Area of Katsina State have been kidnapped by bandits.

A source told newsmen that some of the victims are relatives of Umar Tafa, a gubernatorial aspirant.

The source explained that the victims were wedding guests, were kidnapped very close to the house of a popular politician that contested the governorship in All Progressives Congress (APC) in the last primaries.

According to the source, the woman whose children were mostly kidnapped is the sister of the politician (Tata), who explained that the way the attackers went straight to the house and kidnapped the women, was really questionable.

He added that the terrorists initially kidnapped nine people at Unguwar Kudu quarters of the town but later released three.

The source said, “They abandoned an elderly woman who could not trek, with a small boy who was continuously crying.”

He added that there was a time the bandits came to Dutsinma for four consecutive days and kidnapped people, saying that the situation has become worse and we are really disturbed.

SP Gambo, the police spokesman, could not confirm the incident as at the time of filing this report.
