Again, Nigeria’s Tobi Amusan wins gold at commonwealth games

Tobi Amusan who hails from Nigeria has won the gold in the women’s 100m hurdles at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

This came days after her winning of gold and bagging the world record at the World Athletics Championships in the United States, US.

She clocks a blistering 12.30s to smash the Games’ record on Sunday morning at the Alexander stadium.

Devynne Charlton of The Bahamas came second while England’s Cindy Sember cliched the bronze medal.

Amusan becomes the first World Champion to win a Gold medal in the event and the first Nigerian athlete ever to be crowned champion at all levels of athletics in the same year, after successfully defending the Commonwealth Games title she won four years ago in Gold Coast Australia.

She is now the champion in Africa, World and Commonwealth Games.
