One person has died, while 21 persons sustained various degrees of injuries in a Monday morning road crash along the Lagos-Ibadan highway.

It was gathered that the road crash, which happened at about 05:35 a.m., involved a luxury bus and a truck.

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has said 40 persons were involved in the auto crash.

“21 male adults were injured and one person was killed from the crash, that is the luxury bus driver, while others were unhurt,” the FRSC said.

The spokesperson of FRSC in Ogun State, Florence Okpe, has confirmed that “the suspected causes of the crash were excessive speed and mechanical deficiency.”

She added that “the speed aspect was from the truck driver, who rammed into the stationed bus and killed the driver of the bus while trying to rectify some issues discovered from the vehicle.”

The image maker stated that the injured victims were hospitalized to Famobis Hospital, Mowe, for medical care, adding that the dead body was deposited at the same hospital.
