Unknown gunmen invade police station, kill officer in Ondo

Some unknown gunmen have invaded Okuta Elerinla Police Division, Ondo State.

A police officer has been killed following the invasion.

It was gathered that the unknown gunmen have stormed the police station and caught the policemen on duty unaware in Monday around 1:00 am.

The reason for the invasion by the gunmen is yet unknown.

As sporadic shooting intensifies, a policeman who’s identified as Boluwaji Temenu, with registration number AP. 207538 lost his life in the attack.

The spokesperson of the police in the state, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, while confirming the incident, revealed that police officers at the police station were able to launch a counter attack against the attack.

Odunlami revealed that the Commissioner of Police, Oyeyemi Oyediran had directed the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, to immediately take over the matter.
