Sheikh Gumi reacts to Tinubu-Shettima ticket
The controversial Islamic cleric, Ahmed Gumi has reacted to the choice of the former Governor of Borno State, Senator Kashim Shettima, as the running mate to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Sheikh Gumi said the nomination of Shettima has nothing to do with religion.
MOUTHPIECE NGR observes that the nomination of Shettima has generated widespread reactions on social media space.
Gumi, while speaking to newsmen on Tuesday, said the Muslim-Muslim ticket was a strategy to achieve election victory.
According to Gumi, the electorate, particularly the aggrieved ones, can vote for their preferred candidate.
He said, “It has nothing to do with religion. It’s pure vote-getting strategy and nothing more. It now depends on the voter to choose from a wide range of choices”.
