Senate suspends sitting over lawmaker’s death
The Senate has suspended its plenary over the recent death of Rep. Jude Ise-Idehen, a lawmaker representing Egor/Ikpoba-Okha Federal Constituency in Edo.
The deceased was a member of the House of Representatives under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The suspension of the plenary happened on Tuesday.
There was an adjournment of the plenary to July 20, 2022, in honour of the deceased, who lost his life on July 1, at the age of 52.
The Deputy Leader of the Senate, Sen. Ajayi Boroffice (APC-Ondo) moved a motion for adjournment, while the minority leader, Sen. Philip Aduda (PDP-FCT), seconded it.
The Senate also observed a minute of silence in honor of the departed before suspending the plenary.
The Deputy President of the Senate, Ovie Omo-Agege (APC – Delta Central), presided over the plenary.
