Police apprehend 25 suspected cultists, recover gun, others in Delta

A joint team of the Delta State anti-cult, Ibusa Division, and local vigilantes have apprehended twenty five (25) suspected members of the Black Axe confraternity, also known as “Ayes” during their initiation ceremony at Zion Road Ibusa, Asaba.

The suspected cultists were apprehended when the police raided their hideouts.

The Police also recovered three Aye confraternity regalias, one military vest, a pair of aye confraternity stockings, three cut-to-size locally made guns, four live cartridges, a gallon of substance suspected to be liquid hard drug, four vehicles, and four motorcycles.

The Delta State Police Command, led by CP Ari Muhammed Ali, confirmed the report in a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer DSP Bright Edafe.

He said, “investigation is on-going.”
