Osun 2022: We deserve accolades, for keeping our promise – Police
The Nigeria Police has confessed that it deserves to be commended for the role it played in the Osun governorship election.
Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi took this to his Twitter handle on Saturday morning after the conclusion of the poll.
MOUTHPIECE NGR had earlier reported that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has officially announced Senator Ademola Adeleke, the guber candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the winner of the Osun 2022 gubernatorial election.
Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP has polled 403,371 votes.
While his closest contender, the incumbent Governor of Osun State, Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress, APC gathered 375,027 votes.
The police spokesperson said the security agency has fulfilled its promise during the election.
“We promised to protect and secure Osun Gubernatorial Election, in order to have a free, fair, credible, and acceptable election, which we have done.
“I am sure many will join these good Nigerians to command us and other security agencies for a peaceful conduct in Osun”, Adejobi wrote.
