NLC moves protest to National Assembly over lingering ASUU strike

The Nigerian Labour Congress, Wednesday took its protest to the National Assembly, Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.

Before the Labour Union reached the Legislative chambers, security had been strengthened with security agents spread all over the complex.

The traffic was massive and motorists finding it uneasy to enter the complex.

The Senate proceedings which already commenced at about 11.00 with the opening prayer by the Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan went into a closed-door session, a few minutes after the NLC arrived at the complex.

The protest was championed by the National President of the union, Mr Ayuba Wabba.

Also, the students took part in the Wednesday’s protest.

Other bodies that were present include, the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), the Non-Academic Staff Union of Universities, and the leadership of the National Youth Council.
