Housewife stabs drunken husband to death in Adamawa

A housewife, Caroline Barka, 20, has allegedly stabbed her husband, Barka Dauda, 38, to death.

Caroline Barka, is a resident of Angwan Tamiya, Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

The ugly incident came following a misunderstanding between the two.

The misunderstanding escalated when the deceased husband returned home drunk and fell on their one-year old baby who was in bed.

The argument, according to a source close to the family, ensued as a result of the husband’s drunkenness, habitual late nights, and failure to provide basic necessities.

He was hospitalized where he was confirmed dead.

The Adamawa State Police Command, via a statement, first disclosed the incident on July 22, Friday.

The police command while confirming the incident, said its operatives have arrested the suspect over the deadly fight with her husband.

“The suspect was apprehended by the police in Madagali Local Government Area following a report received from a relative of the deceased.

“Investigation so far reveals that the suspect, being a nursing mother, had a child with the deceased after two years of marriage,” said the statement which was made available to newsmen by police image maker, SP Suleiman Nguroje.
