Eid-el-Adha: Ogunwuyi holds prayer for Makinde, distributes cows, rams 

MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that the Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Otunba Segun Ebenezer Ogunwuyi on Friday organized a special prayer for Oyo state Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE to commemorate the day of Arafah. 

Arafat which is a very sacred and virtuous day for Muslim ummah across the whole world is an Islamic holiday that falls on the 9th day of Dhu al-Hijjah of the lunar Islamic Calendar. It is the holiest day in the Islamic calendar, the second day of the Hajj pilgrimage, and the day after is the first day of the major Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha.

MoUTHPIECE NGR correspondent gathered that the prayer was held at the resident of the Chief of Staff to Governor Seyi Makinde, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi where the Grand Imam of Ogbomosoland- Sheikh Imam Talihat Oluwashina Yunus Ayilara led other Muslim clerics in the land to pray for the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Governor Seyi Makinde, FNSE.

The prayer which was centered around continued God’s guidance and existence of peace in Oyo state was also extended to Nigeria as the current security challenges calls for serous concerns.

After leading the prayer session, the Grand Imam of Ogbomosoland, Sheik Ayilara appreciated Otunba Ogunwuyi for hosting the special prayer on Arafat day as the day is very significant among all days in the Muslim calendar. He also reiterated the importance of fasting and prayer on the day of Arafat since it’s the holiest day.

Otunba Ogunwuyi, while thanking God for his grace upon his life and for the peace that we are currently enjoying in the state, enjoined Muslim Ummah to use the occasion of Eid al-Adha to pray for his principal- Oyo State Governor and Nigeria at large.

In attendance were the former deputy chief of staff in the state, Alhaji Razak Gbadegesin; the honorable Commissioner for Trade, Industry, Investment and Cooperatives, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye,
Alhaji Monsuru Ejide, the senatorial candidate for Oyo North, Hon. Akinwole Akinwale, the House of Representative Candidate for Ogbomoso South, North and Orire, Hon. Olufemi Onireti, amongst others.

Also in attendance were the Executive Chairmen of the five Local Government Area in the zone, their House Leaders, the five chairmen of People’s Democratic Party in the zone, representatives of women wing, youths and people with special needs.

The occasion was also used to share cows, rams and other gift items to people in line with the teaching of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who according to many hadiths often contribute to sacred acts of dedication and sacrifice for society in remembrance of the sacrifice of his forefather, Prophet Ibrahim.

In their separate remarks, some of the beneficiaries hailed the PDP Chieftain for being a good Ambassador of GSM and for writing his name in gold as the gesture is massive and mind-blowing. They also described the CoS as a cheerful giver.
