BREAKING: Court disqualifies Okowa’s governorship candidate, Oborevwori

MOUTHPIECE NGR reports that the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democracy Party (PDP), Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has been disqualified by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.

The court sacked Oborevwori from contesting the 2023 governorship election over discrepancies in his certificates.

It was gathered that the court also restrained Oborevwori who is the speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly and anointed candidate of the state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, from parading himself as the candidate of the PDP for the Delta 2023 governorship election.

The court order followed a suit instituted by David Edevbie, a former commissioner for finance, who is the anointed candidate of former governor James Ibori against Oborevwori’s candidacy.

In accordance with the provision of S 84(3) of electoral act, the court held that the plaintiff, Olorogun David Edevbie is the valid Governorship candidate of the PDP in Delta state and should be accorded the maximum respect.
