Unknown gunmen abduct mother of APC senatorial candidate, Kiyawa in Jigawa

Some unknown gunmen have abducted 70 year old mother of Tijjani Ibrahim Gaya, the Jigawa Central Senatorial District candidate for the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).

The spokesperson of the police in the state, DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, has confirmed the incident to newsmen.

He revealed that the old woman, Hajiya Jaja was kidnapped from her house yesterday night in Kiyawa town, Kiyawa local government.

Shiisu disclosed that on hearing about the incident, the police had mobilized its men to effect the arrest of the gunmen and secure the release of the victim unharmed.

A source said the suspected criminals who were up to ten invaded the victim’s house at about 9:30pm on Monday night and abducted her after shooting in the air.

Recall that Kiyawa was a former member of the House of Representatives for Kiyawa/Dutse constituency, under the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.

He moved to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC after losing the PDP gubernatorial ticket to Aminu Ibrahim Ringim during the 2015 primary elections.
