Man kills female co-tenant during a fight in Anambra
Ebube Oba, 30, has allegedly killed a mother of two, a co-tenant, in a fight which broke out in their residence.
It was reported that a misunderstanding had ensued between the suspected killer, Oba and the deceased victim, who was identified as Uzoamaka Ekpe.
The spokesperson of the police in the state, DSP Toochukwu Ikenga, has via a press statement revealed that the suspect had been apprehended.
Ikenga while shedding more light on the incident said: “Police Operatives at about 4:33pm on 25/6/2022 arrested one Ebube Oba ‘M’ aged 30years over alleged murder of a mother of two (2), Mrs Uzoamaka Ekpe aged 45years living at Ugochukwu lane Nkpor Agu, Ogidi.
“Preliminary information revealed that late Mrs Uzoamaka had a quarrel with the suspect which resulted to fisticuffs.
“Ebube hit the victim on the chest and face with a fist blow, before she collapsed. She was rushed to the hospital and was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty.
“The body has been deposited to the morgue and the suspect is in custody. The case shall be charged to court after investigations,” he stated.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, CP Echeng Echeng has sent message of advice to members of the public to learn to manage and control their anger at all times as it could be dangerous.
