Ekiti 2022: You destroyed democracy with vote buying – Sowore blasts Gov Fayemi

Omoyele Sowore, a human rights activist, has accused the Governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi, and other members of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, of using vote buying to destroy democratic principles.

Recall that there were reports of massive vote buying among other electoral malpractices during the Ekiti gubernatorial election on Saturday.

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2023 general elections, revealed that the Governor of Ekiti State who labelled himself as a ‘pro democracy’ activist before becoming a politician, was the advocate for vote-buying made his party victorious in the election.

He tweeted, “Gov. @kfayemi of the All Progressives Congress @OfficialAPCNg made his name as a “pro-democracy” activist, but yesterday he and other members of his party destroyed “Democracy” with paper money! #WeCantContinueLikeThis.”

The Informant247 had reported that Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has delivered his polling unit, unit 09, Ogilolo Ward in Isan-Ekiti, Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti state for All Progressive Congress gubernatorial candidate, Biodun Oyebanji.

The APC got 154, while the SDP and PDP candidates garnered 3 and 4 votes respectively.

The ADP had a single vote while 6 votes were voided.
