Buhari finally recognizes MKO Abiola’s VP, Babagana Kingibe as former vice president

Babagana Kingibe, who’s the running mate to Chief MKO Abiola, the presumed winner of the 1993 presidential election, has been bestowed the recognition of a former vice president of Nigeria.

The 1993 vice presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, was introduced as ex Vice President when he was told to join a group photograph during this year’s Democracy Day celebration, which took place at the Eagles Square on Monday.

He was told to join President Muhammadu Buhari, ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, and President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan.

MOUTHPIECE NGR had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari revealed that this would be the last moment he would be addressing them as head of the nation on a Democracy Day.

MOUTHPIECE NGR also recalls that the 1993 June 12 presidential election was canceled by the then military Head of State, Ibrahim Badmus Babangida.

Last year, the Nigerian leader changed Nigeria’s Democracy Day from May 29 to June 12 to honour MKO Abiola.

While MKO Abiola had enjoyed the recognition and honor of the President, nothing special has been mentioned about Kingibe who was Abiola’s running mate in 1993, until today.
