Aggressive thugs enter Osun Teaching Hospital, demand friend’s corpse

There was tension in Osun State University Teaching Hospital, Osogbo, on Wednesday, as thugs invaded the premises of the hospital to request the corpse they earlier put at the morgue on Tuesday.

It was gathered that the thugs who reached the hospital on motorcycles, on Tuesday, left the corpse of one of them who was killed in Osogbo at the hospital.

They requested for the release of the corpse without any documentation.

The crisis started when the personnel in charge told them there were some documents they would need to fill, which angered the thugs.

The thugs openly showed charms, and threatened to cause unrest if the corpse was not released to them.

Staff of the hospital and relatives of the patients were seen running for their lives, to avoid being injured.

Some policemen later occupied the affected area in order to restore normalcy in the area.

Dr. Babatunde Afolabi, the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee of the Hospital, disclosed that the matter has been resolved.
