Oriire South LCDA Political Head grades 18 kilometre roads, charges residents on maintenance culture

The Political Head of Administrator, Oriire South Local Council Development Area, Mrs Lydia Bankole has commenced massive grading of strategic roads across wards in the council.

Speaking with Mouthpiece NGR on Friday, Mrs Bankole said the special attention given to grading of rural roads was to enable farmers easily transport agricultural products to nearby markets in the communities.

Bankole who said His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde has performed excellently well in the aspect of road construction since coming on board in 2019 added that his achievements in various ministries have really benefitted the masses as well as reshaping the ”Pace Setter State”.

According to her, the communities where grading took place have been cut off from their kith and kin in the State until the intervention of Makinde’s led administration.

She said communities like Onitinrin to MoinMoin to Boosa. Also from Aponran to Bosunla1 to Bosunla2 to Idi-Ede totalling 18 kilometres had completed.

“The need for this grading is evident in my believe that opening up of rural areas will make it easier for farmers to transport their agricultural products to the towns and nearby markets at cheaper cost.

“It’s quite imperative to enjoin all indigents and residents to imbibe unparalleled maintenance culture towards the newly graded roads in the communities.

“Grading of rural roads will also help give people living in the areas, a sense of belonging, so that they will not think that the local government has abandoned them,” she said.
