Again, Oke LEGACY doles out NECO Scholarship to Ogbomoso indigenes, PDP members

House of Representatives hopeful, Hon. John Adisa Oke has awarded another round of NECO scholarship to Ogbomoso indigenes and members of Peoples Democratic Party in Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire.

He gave the scholarship when he visited party members and leaders in Ogbomoso South on Saturday and Oriire Local Government today to officially declare his ambition to run for House of Representatives, Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire Federal Constituency.

Mouthpiece NGR reports that the current member of Oyo Local Government Service Commission promised not to derail in the yearly exercise for the development of Ogbomoso.

The scholarship entails 80 slots, with beneficiaries cutting across; 30 slots to Ogbomoso North, South and Oriire Local Governments with one per each ward and the 50 slots is made available for the Ogbomoso community.

Hon. Oke, who was received with encomium on different occasions by both party leaders and members expressed great optimism to the cause of improving the constituency with sustainable approaches.

While speaking, Oke said his indulgence in scholarship and philanthropic gestures was born out of his long passion and desire to touch lives in line with biblical teachings that a giver never lacks. So long as God continue to bless him, his commitment for the care of people will never cease.

He promised that no payment would be on their neck alone as he would take charge of every responsibilities and get them properly prepared for the forthcoming exams.

According to him, there will be proper mentorship and the students will not be left to their fate.

“This has been done on several occasions and confirmed by most of the exco members of our great party, Peoples Democratic Party”.

“Interested candidates can visit my campaign office beside Best Legacy College of Education for their form pick up”, He submitted.

However, in his remark, the Chairman, PDP Oriire LG, Mr Bello Raheem lauded the efforts of the incoming Honourable to better the lives of the people in Oriire through his sustainable approach.

Oke who is known for his philanthropic gesture and contributions to his party since 2017, further commended the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his commitment to the prosperity of Ogbomoso and Oyo state at large, calling on well meaning people to extend similar gesture.

Oke who never ceased assisting people and contributing immensely to the development of Ogbomoso had over the years sponsored many Ogbomoso indigenes on scholarship as well as supporting destitute, handicaps, widowns among others through vocational training and empowerment.

Among dignitaries present at PDP Oriire LG included Vice Chairman, Kuranga Isiaka; Secretary, Aremu Folorunso; Org. Secretary, Okunade Bukunmi; Women Leader, Olalonpe Olawale; Youth Leader, Oladosu Oladayo.
