BREAKING: Segun Oni dumps PDP, picks governorship ticket

Mouthpiece NGR reports that Former Governor Segun Oni has Dumped the Peoples Democratic Party.

Oni, who finished second in the PDP primaries, has resigned from the party ahead of the June 18 governorship election in Ekiti State.

Adebayo Jackson, the Segun Oni Movement’s Director of Media and Publicity, confirmed this to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti state, on Saturday.

Oni, on the other hand, hasn’t revealed which group he’ll be camping with. However, rumors abound that the ex-governor will join the All Progressives Grand Alliance (AGPA) to run for governor.

Oni, who lost the PDP Governorship Primary election to Bisi Kolawole, was said to have approached APGA for a chance to run for governor using their platform.

Following some exploratory meetings between Oni’s associates and APGA leadership, a deal was reportedly struck to admit the ex-governor to the party’s fold and then grant him a waiver to allow him to fly the party’s flag.
