2023: APC Goes Back Over National Convention
The Nigerian ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), has trotted back on its earlier decision to have its zonal congresses on March 26. This news which generated much shock as it goes viral was disclosed by the The Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC) of the party.
The Governor Mai Buni-led convention planning committee, had on this day 21st February, 2022 sent a written information to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), announcing that the party would not go ahead with the planned national convention of February 26.
As gathered by the Mouthpiece NGR News, it was stated that the zonal congresses of the party would now hold on Saturday, March 26, 2022. Recall that the party leadership had held a series of meetings behind close-door since 11am on Monday.
Speaking with the press men on the new wave this day, the National Secretary of the party, John James Akpanudoedehe, said the preparation for the national convention will commence on 24 of March, 2022, while the zonal congresses will hold before the national convention slated for 26 of March, 2022.
