Atiku Mandate Southwest Chairman, Prof. Afonja commiserates with Ibadan indigenes over Olubadan’s passing

The Southwest Chairman, ATIKU MANDATE, Prof. Rafael Afonja has commiserated with the good people of Ibadan on the passing away of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adeyunji who joined his ancestors on Sunday, 2nd of January, 2022.

Afonja in a statement obtained by Mouthpiece  NGR on Monday described the late Olubadan as a peace loving man whose reign has brought peace, prosperity, tranquility, and political stability to the Ibadan political landscape. 

He expressed his sincere sympathy to all sons and daughters of Ibadan over the sad loss of the revered monarch. 

“With a heavy heart, I wish to express my heartfelt condolences over the sad loss of our illustrious monarch, Oba Saliu Adetunji.”

“The late King was a peace loving man with high esteem, dignity, epitome of humility, and an embodiment of enduring peace during his reign.”

“He would live in people’s memories for peace, enduring peace and stability, harmony and monumental developments attained during his reign.”

“In spite of his advance age, I know no words can adequately captured the grief and pain of the loss. I however pray hat the almighty will forgive his shortcomings and admit him to Jannah-tul firdaus”- He said.
